Registry Deadline Set
Syria's authority for production and export development has called on every exporting business to complete its entry in the National Export Registry no later than 30 June 2026. The notice applies to all firms that ship goods abroad, regardless of their sector or size.
The body, which operates under the Ministry of Economy, presented registration as a mandatory step for any company that intends to keep exporting through formal customs channels after the deadline.
What Registration Requires
Applicants must submit their information electronically and attach certified copies of their commercial and industrial registration, a membership certificate from the relevant chamber of commerce and industry, and a copy of the owner's identity document.
The process carries a fee of 50,000 Syrian pounds (SYP) in the country's redenominated currency, payable through the electronic "Shaam Cash" platform.
A Digital Export Base
The registry opened on 1 April 2026 as an official digital platform and database that documents exporters, companies, and the products they trade. It is designed to hold this information in one place so that trade activity can be tracked centrally.
According to the published functions, the system is meant to streamline customs procedures and reduce the paperwork involved in clearing goods for export.
Oversight and Support
Beyond customs, the platform is tasked with channeling financial and logistical support to registered exporters, monitoring the quality of goods leaving the country, and checking that they meet international standards.
Tying support and clearance to registration gives authorities a single record of who is exporting what, and is intended to draw more trade into the formal system.
Push for Competitiveness
Officials framed the measure as part of a wider effort to organize the export sector and strengthen the position of Syrian products in regional and international markets.
For exporters, the immediate task is administrative: register and pay the fee before 30 June 2026 to keep access to streamlined clearance and the support the registry promises.
