November Payments Scheduled
Pension payments for retirees covered by the social insurance system will be disbursed from 4 November to 22 November 2026 through post offices across all of Syria's governorates. The schedule was announced jointly by the national postal body and the social insurance organization.
Routing the payments through post offices is intended to give retirees in every province a disbursement point close to home.
Suspended Pensions Restored
Separately, the General Secretariat of the Presidency decided to resume payments to civilian retirees whose pensions had been halted for security reasons tied to their role in the revolution. The decision applies to those whose entitlements were stopped before 8 December 2024.
For those retirees, the step restores a source of income that had been cut off throughout the suspension period.
Arrears to Be Paid
Officials said accumulated arrears covering the period of suspension will also be paid to the affected retirees. Paying the arrears on top of the current month means eligible retirees are set to receive both back payments and their regular November entitlement.
The Ministry of Finance earlier announced the resumption of pensions for military and civilian retirees whose benefits were frozen for security reasons under the former government, with procedures having begun earlier in the year.
Reach Across the Country
By routing the payments through post offices in every governorate, the authorities are extending disbursement beyond the banking network to areas where branch access remains limited. The announcement did not specify the number of retirees affected or the amounts to be paid.
A Broader Fiscal Step
The move to restore suspended pensions continues a series of decisions taken since December 2024 to reverse benefit freezes imposed under the former government. Processing of the military and civilian cases began earlier in the year, and the November schedule falls within the recurring disbursement now handled through the postal network.
