Half-Year Energy Output
Syria's Ministry of Energy reported that crude oil production exceeded 14 million barrels during the first half of 2026, with the ministry putting the precise figure at 14.8 million barrels. Raw natural gas output reached 1.429 billion cubic meters, and clean natural gas totaled 1.252 billion cubic meters.
The data also recorded 3.5 million tons of petroleum derivatives, 2 million tons of refined crude, and 35,500 tons of liquefied household gas over the six-month period.
Wells and Fields Back Online
The ministry said 152 wells were returned to operation and 10 new wells were brought into production, while 21 wells were repaired and drilling reached 3,460 meters. Two drilling rigs were rehabilitated, and primitive gas flaring was eliminated in four governorates.
Among the restored facilities, the main pumping unit in Homs resumed work after a 12-year halt, the Amrit offshore rig returned to service, and gas turbines were switched on at the Jibsa field.
Gas Toward Lebanon
The Dabbousiyeh gas station was prepared to transfer gas to Lebanon, and 5 kilometers of the Conoco gas line were rehabilitated. The Thawra petroleum center and the Bishri station were also refurbished.
The ministry added that it signed seven memorandums of understanding with international companies and three contracts to develop the petroleum sector during the same period.
Fuel and Electricity Supply
To support supply security, oil terminals received 110 tankers in the first half. Imports included 1.016 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 1.5 million tons of crude, 598,000 tons of diesel, 283,000 tons of gasoline, 196,000 tons of liquefied household gas, and 32,000 tons of fuel oil.
Power stations were supplied with 2.059 billion cubic meters of gas and 859,251 tons of fuel, while 3.5 million tons of petroleum derivatives were directed to the local market.
Building on 2025 Gains
The figures follow a year of recovery in 2025, when daily natural gas deliveries rose 35 percent to 9 million cubic meters and the first exploratory gas well was drilled in the Damascus countryside.
During that year the sector also received 96 million cubic meters of Qatari gas and 364 million cubic meters of Azeri gas, and supplied 2,194 million cubic meters of gas to power stations.
