Three Projects Underway
Work has begun on three infrastructure projects inside Hisyah Industrial City, the large manufacturing zone in the countryside near Homs. The projects target two food-industry sections and one chemical-industry section, and together they are designed to bring 224 industrial plots up to operating standard.
Implementation started on 12 July 2026. The works cover internal road networks, sewage and industrial drainage lines, water supply, and service connections for the plots.
Costs and Coverage
The combined cost of the three projects is 371 million Syrian pounds (SYP). The largest, in Food Zone C, is valued at 202 million pounds and serves 149 plots with roughly 6,500 meters of roads. Food Zone D carries a cost of 108 million pounds for 55 plots and about 3,055 meters of roads.
The third project, in Chemical Industries Zone B, is valued at 61 million pounds and serves 20 plots with close to 2,000 meters of roads. Each project provides the same package of roads, sewage, drainage, water, and service links.
Inside the Industrial City
Hisyah Industrial City spans more than 326 hectares and holds 433 facilities. When fully active, the zone is estimated to support around 10,500 jobs.
The 224 plots covered by the new works sit within its food and chemical manufacturing areas, two of the segments the city is built around.
What the Works Deliver
The infrastructure being laid is the groundwork that industrial plots require before factories can operate: paved access, connected water, and functioning drainage for both sewage and industrial runoff.
With the road totals alone exceeding 11,000 meters across the three projects, the effort is aimed at readying serviced land for tenants rather than constructing the factories themselves.
A Step Toward Activation
Preparing serviced plots is a prerequisite for drawing manufacturers into the zone and putting idle land into use. The three projects move a defined block of 224 plots closer to that stage.
The works began on 12 July 2026, and one of the food-zone projects carries an execution period of about 180 days, placing its completion within the year.
