FlyDubai to Launch Daily Aleppo Flights After 14-Year Halt

The Emirati carrier FlyDubai will begin daily direct flights between Dubai and Aleppo International Airport on 20 July 2026, restoring a link severed for more than 14 years and making Aleppo its second Syrian destination after Damascus.

Daily Aleppo Service

The Emirati carrier FlyDubai announced on 10 July 2026 that it will resume and expand its operations in Syria by launching daily direct flights to Aleppo International Airport. The airline said in a statement that the service is scheduled to begin on 20 July 2026.

With the new route, Aleppo becomes the carrier's second destination in Syria, joining the capital, Damascus. The airline described the step as part of its commitment to strengthening air connectivity with markets it considers underserved.

A Link Restored

The flights re-establish a direct air connection to Syria's second-largest city that had been suspended for more than 14 years. "We are pleased to resume our flights to the city of Aleppo after a halt of more than 14 years," the carrier's chief executive said, adding that the daily schedule responds to rising demand for direct travel.

He said operating a daily service to Aleppo would also help reinforce economic, cultural, and family ties between the United Arab Emirates and Syria.

Building on Damascus

The carrier became the first Emirati airline to operate daily flights between Dubai and Damascus on 1 June 2025. As demand on that route grew, it increased frequency to three daily flights to the capital.

Its commercial operations chief said the airline had seen strong demand for travel between Syria and the United Arab Emirates since the Damascus flights launched the previous summer, and that the Aleppo route extends that momentum.

Wider Travel Options

The direct flights are expected to offer a link for Syrians living in the UAE and across the Gulf, while sharply reducing travel times compared with indirect routings.

By adding Aleppo to its Syrian network, the airline said it would broaden the choices available to travelers moving between the Gulf and northern Syria.
