Contract Signed
The administration of Sheikh Najjar Industrial City in Aleppo has signed an investment contract to build the area's first integrated industrial mall, announced on 4 August 2026. The project will run under a 25-year build-operate-transfer arrangement with a private company.
The partner firm is headquartered in Dubai and registered with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, bringing foreign capital into one of Syria's largest industrial zones.
Scope of the Project
The mall will span 3,200 square meters across three floors dedicated to tools, equipment and industrial supplies. Construction is expected to take two years and will include commercial offices, showrooms, warehouses and service facilities.
The complex is designed to connect suppliers directly with manufacturers, with an initial focus on the textile and steel sectors.
Industrial Zone Context
Sheikh Najjar Industrial City was established in 2004 and covers 4,412 hectares, hosting textile, food-processing, chemical and engineering industries. The zone is central to Aleppo's manufacturing base, much of which was damaged during years of conflict.
Investment Signal
Officials described the agreement as a step to improve services for investors, industrialists and workers. The involvement of a Gulf-registered company points to renewed external interest in Syrian industrial assets as the country works to attract reconstruction capital.
